Billy Joe Padgett bagged the all-time Georgia record for non-typical white tail buck on Thanksgiving Day, 1998. His buck scored an amazing 248 and 4/8 Boone & Crockett points. I enjoyed talking with this young man about his record. He comes from a family of hard working people and they love hunting and fishing. I even played a little baseball with his father Ernest and his brothers back in the 1960's. Another interesting thing about this marker - if you go by it look for the deer "sheds" held by Ernest, his father. These were the old antlers shed the previous year. They were found about a mile or so from where the record was established.
