Jacksonville was the hub of many stagecoach routes -- stages would fan out from Jacksonville in the direction of Hawkinsville (Hartford), Milledgeville, St. Marys, Tallahassee, and other points. This mode of travel was full of adventure. Many times the passengers would have to get out and push the stage out of a bog. I believe we took this picture last year at a Helen, Ga., attraction that featured old stuff such as this stagecoach.
