AUTHOR - JULIAN ANDERSON WILLIAMS (Some notes)
Our book on "ALASKA" is a trip covering 31 days on a bus tour to Alaska and other points. The geography and events are important and memorable. But, more significantly the book also focuses on a personality Chief Justice George F. Boney of the Supreme Court of Alaska. Boney in his boyhood spent a portion of his life at China Hill (near Jacksonville, Ga.). This man was a moving force in shaping the justice system of the State of Alaska. The citizens of that state honored his life and memory by naming the main justice building in Anchorage "The Boney Building" (Courthouse). Chief Justice died at the early age (42) of a tragic boating accident. When he became the Chief Justice at age of 39 he was the youngest chief justice in the United States. He is buried at the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery at China Hill. Read the book to learn more about this great man. Especially interesting is his daughter's recollection of some of his personal behaviors. (See also other images about this subject on this website.)
