I mostly shoot now with an OM-D E-M5 that is more up to date and produces a bit sharper images, but the colours of this E-1 are still unsurpassed!

I have been looking for a good used E-1 to add to my Oly collection. I finally found one from usedcameras.com for $240.00. I got the camera and it is LIKE NEW. It only has 1450 clicks, it is not even broken in. I cant wait to get out and try it out.

I recently purchased a second-hand one. After having taken several 10000 shots with a Canon 350D, a 40D and an Olympus E-620, this is the DSLR I love the most. Already old-fashioned, but simple, straightforward, quiet shutter sound, good grip, lovely colours and sharp enough with its only 5 Mp. Zuiko lenses are indeed outstanding as BlueSteelPhoto put it.

Hiked 1100 miles on the pacific crest trail with this camera, It was exposed to dust storms, rain, and snow. It has been submerged in rivers, dropped and fallen on. It's one tough camera. Optically the 11-22mm lens is superb, probably the best wide angle zoom available on the market and I am comparing it to all brands at any price. Check out my pacific crest trail gallery for samples.

I am constantly pleased and often amazed with this camera. It is also weatherproof (high quality seals) that has allowed me to use it places where other cameras could not. The shutter is ultra-quiet, none of that clack-clack-clack of mirror slap that some other cameras exhibit. It has quite simply allowed me to make better photographs.

Built like a brick, solid, 12 shot buffer, great in the hand (with the grip), takes amazing images and now (at this time) inexpensive to purchase. 5.5 megapixel camera gives me 16x20 prints with excellent detail.

The solid build is what I look for in a camera.. These plastic toys being released lately don't cut the mustard, and to buy a pro body (I also own a Canon 1D Mark II), it's not financially feasable to spend 5000 for a camera that will be surpassed within a year by something for less money.

I own 2 E-1s, 1 E-330, and a E-300, plus a c7070. I love Olympus Gear.

The Zuiko lenses (I have the 50mm F2, 50-200 3.5, 14-54 2.8) are simply outstanding.

Solid as a rock, great imager, weatherproof, ergonomically superb. At current discount
prices since its been discontinued, it puts entry-level plastic DSLRs to shame in-terms
of build quality. Not hampered by the numerous production problems plaguing other more
popular DSLRs either. The word "banding" never comes into play.
Able to use modern digital lenses and old Olympus OM Zuiko lenses via the MF-1 adapter.

BEEN SHOOTING WITH FOR 3 MONTHS, CAN'T PUT IT DOWN, I'D RATHER SHOOT WITH IT THAN CANON 1DS-MKII. GREAT CAMERA, TUFF AND LIGHT WEIGHT EVEN WITH PRO LENSES. JOHN
