My photos are all analog and chemical. I use an old Pentax K1000. The color is a product of misusing Kodak 200 daylight film in low light. The reds and yellow oversaturate. The pictures are all "wrong." But I love the way they look. First of all the shutter speeds are too low. Which gives you blurring and ghost shadows. Then the warm colors over-saturate because the film is balanced for full daylight - not shadows and indoor lighting. You can see the reds and yellow "bloom" quite dramatically in some of the shots. (The chemicals spread and create a halo along the lines they are "over-recording.") And the Pentax lenses are notoriously soft (and inexpensive!) Which takes even more detail and sharpness out of the picture. And viola: Velvety candy colors.
These cameras are going to come back like tube amps when people get sick of the sterile look of digital photography. The pentax K1000 is like the farfisa organ of the photography world. You can probably get one on ebay for $50.
cheers,

What equipment do you use? How do you get the colors so vibrant? Every shot looks great. How do you do it? The photos I take with my 2.0 mp compact digital camera seem dull and mundane by comparison. Man. Great work.
